Scholarships
Every year high school students in Hawkeye's service territory and whose parents or guardians are members of the Cooperative are eligible to apply for a scholarship. The scholarship fund is available through unclaimed Capital Credit funds.
Who is Eligible?
Any graduating high school senior, whose parents or guardians are members of the Cooperative are eligible. The applicant must be a student who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school in the fall. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
2010 Scholarships
Hawkeye will be awarding five (5) -- $500 scholarships.
How Do You Apply?
In order to be considered for the scholarship, completed applications must be received by the Cooperative no later than April 12, 2010. Applications are available at your area high school guidance counselor office, at the REC office in Cresco or by downloading the application form.
Return the completed application to the Cooperative with the following:

- Letter of recommendation from a teacher, advisor or counselor
- A minimum 250-word essay answering the following question:
1.) What can cooperative members do to become more energy efficient?
All completed applications are sent to a panel of judges who select the scholarship winners. The judges are not associated with the Cooperative and will give equal consideration to all students.
