Hruska's Canoe Livery

Hruska's Canoe Livery is located at 3233 347th Street in Kendallville, Iowa with access right off of State Highway 139. It is
about 10 minutes northeast of Cresco, Iowa. The Livery was established in 1970,
and still thrives today in providing canoe, kayak, and tube rentals to area
adventurers. Over the years, they have provided services to consumers in the
surrounding 5 states.
Besides
renting recreational equipment, they offer current information about the
conditions of the Upper Iowa River. They also provide assistance to tourists
making travel plans and offer literature and brochures about attractions in
Northeast Iowa and Southern Minnesota. HruskaÕs Livery also provides a
transportation service for recreational equipment from your starting to your
final destination. They also provide a shuttle service which will transport
people back to their vehicles after their trip.
The cost* of the recreational equipment is as follows:
- Canoes:
Weekdays: $18.00/day
Weekends & Holidays: $22.00//day
- 1 person is $15.00/kayak/day
2 person $18.00/kayak/day
- Tubes:
$4.00/tube/day
While canoeing on the Upper Iowa River, participants are able
to partake in the beautiful scenery of Northeast Iowa such as the bluffs and the
natural springs. After a day on the river, you can spend the night at one of two
area campgrounds. Kendallville Country Campground has numerous features such as
electrical hookups, showers, dump stations, shelter and other recreational
equipment. Tent camping rates are $10.00 per night and trailer camping sites
with electrical hookups are $12.00 per night. The other, more primitive
campground, is located down the river in Bluffon. Hruska's Bluffton Campground
has Port-a-Pots and shelters available to campers. The cost for a tent camping
site is $7.00 per night and trailer camping sites are $10.00 per night.
