Apple Dumplings
2 apples
2 cans crescent rolls
1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1 c. sugar (or 1½ c.)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
1 (12 oz. can) Mt. Dew
Cut peeled apples into 16 nice-sized wedges. Separate crescent rolls. Place one slice of apple on each section of crescent roll and roll as you would a crescent roll. Put in greased 9 X 13" pan. In saucepan, stir together butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until melted. (You can also choose to save the cinnamon to sprinkle over the rolls). Pour mixture over rolls, then pour the Mt. Dew around rolls. Bake at 350º for 40-45 minutes.
Can serve warm with scoop of ice cream.
