GreenTouch Day May 6 at Beaver Creek Valley State Park
Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (2 p.m. April 21, 2017)— MiEnergy Cooperative invites the public to take part in GreenTouch Day at Beaver Creek Valley State Park, Caledonia on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.
It is a morning dedicated to preparing the park for the busy summer camping season. It is recommended that volunteers bring work gloves and come dressed with appropriate footwear for a variety of outdoor cleanup activities. Families, youth groups and other organizations are encouraged to attend, as volunteers of all ages are welcome.
This year marks the 17th year the cooperative has hosted GreenTouch Day. It is part of a statewide event where Minnesota Touchstone Energy Cooperatives commit the first Saturday in May to lending a hand to Minnesota state parks.
MiEnergy has four Minnesota state parks within its electric service boundary. The co-op rotates the GreenTouch event among Beaver Creek, Forestville, Great River Bluffs and Whitewater. With limited budgets, park staff is appreciative of those who are able to come out to help spruce things up.
Volunteers are able to visit the park free for the day, no purchase of a one-day permit is necessary. MiEnergy provides snacks and beverages for volunteers, so please call 1-800-432-2285 or send an email to ahoiland@MiEnergy.coop if you plan to attend.
