Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (2 p.m. April 21, 2017)— MiEnergy Cooperative invites the public to take part in GreenTouch Day at Beaver Creek Valley State Park, Caledonia on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.
It is a morning dedicated to preparing the park for the busy summer camping season. It is recommended that volunteers bring work gloves and come dressed with appropriate footwear for a variety of outdoor cleanup activities. Families, youth groups and other organizations are encouraged to attend, as volunteers of all ages are welcome.

A member contacted the cooperative this morning after receiving a call from a person posing as an employee from Tri-County Electric Cooperative. The caller told them immediate payment was needed to avoid disconnection. The cooperative reminds members to not provide a credit card number or other personal information over the phone without verifying the call.
Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (8 a.m. April 12, 2017)— Barbara Schwickerath, a junior at New Hampton High School, and Noah Carlson, a junior at Houston High School, each won an educational-filled week of adventure in Washington D.C. as MiEnergy Cooperative’s Youth Tour Contest winners. Both will be among a group of 1,600 students sponsored by electric cooperatives from across the country to take part in the Rural Electric Youth Tour June 9-15.

Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (8 a.m. Jan. 26, 2017)— MiEnergy Cooperative’s Compliance and Training Coordinator Brad Pecinovsky, of Cresco, has completed an intensive program in electric utility safety and loss control to become a Certified Loss Control Professional. The certification program is a series of workshops offered by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in conjunction with the National Utility Training and Safety Education Association. The program is designed to instruct participants in many areas related to electric utility industry safety.
Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (8:30 a.m. Jan. 13, 2017)— Over 150 directors, managers and staff members from Iowa’s electric cooperatives discussed priorities with 100 state legislators on January 10 during the annual Welcome Back Legislative Reception at the State Historical Building in downtown Des Moines. Other guests of honor included: Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey, Secretary of State Paul Pate, Iowa Utilities Board Member Nick Wagner and Iowa Department of Economic Development Director Debi Durham.
